How is the NEBOSH Certificate Assessed?

The NEBOSH General Certificate follows a two-step assessment process:

IG1: An online open book exam (OBE) and supporting closing interview
IG2: A workplace-based practical risk assessment

Successful completion of both assessments is necessary to obtain the qualification.

The open book exam has replaced the previous two-hour written exam for Unit IG1, allowing candidates to take both exams remotely from the comfort of their own homes or other suitable locations.
