The NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) in Occupational Health and Safety is an internationally recognised qualification that will provide you with a broad understanding of key health and safety issues. The IGC is NEBOSH’s most popular qualification worldwide and is growing in popularity amongst employers in Canada.
The IGC syllabus takes a risk management approach based on best practice and international standards, such as the International Labour Organisation (ILO) codes of practice. Local laws and cultural factors are also covered where relevant. The course covers is divided into 3 units :

The NEBOSH IGC is for people already working in health & safety, or who want to start a career in safety management and need a globally recognised qualification. It is perfect for managers in all functions who have health & safety responsibilities. No previous health and safety knowledge is needed but a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0.
IGC1 and GC2 are 2 separate 2 hour exams consisting of 10 short answer questions and 1 long answer; GC3 is a 2 hour practical assessment carried out in the workplace no later than two weeks after sitting the final NEBOSH exam.
