With the all of the excitement of the Rio 2016 Olympics coming to a close and the incredible performance of Team GB still resonating with the public, Astutis decided to hold its own Office Olympics to raise money for Kidney Wales.
Staff competed in their teams – Marketing/Finance, UK Sales, International Sales, Resources and online learning – across four events in an Olympics themed fundraiser; hula hooping, paper aeroplane javelin, box limbo and planking. Although competition was strong, Astutis’ online learning Team were crowned the ultimate champions after lasting an incredible 6 minutes and 23 seconds in the final planking challenge.
The event was a great success raising over £80 for Kidney Wales, bringing the total amount raised over the past 5 years to a whopping £10,148!
Astutis was joined by Lloyd Bowen of Kidney Wales for the afternoon who also took part in some of the games. Of Astutis’ fundraising, Lloyd commented:
“Team Astutis has shown a tremendous amount of support for Kidney Wales for over 5 years. They have smashed their fundraising target of £10k and we cannot thank them enough. We look forward to seeing them take to the starting line at the Cardiff 10k and cheering them on!”
5,000 runners will take to Wales’ capital on September 11th to take part in the Cardiff 10k. The iconic event, organised by Kidney Wales, aims to raise money and support for Kidney patients and their families. Over the years Kidney Wales has provided life-saving equipment to local hospitals as well as assisted families with essential costs, childcare and learning support.
